Game Review
In a thrilling Premier League encounter at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Newcastle United emerged victorious with a 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur. This result was somewhat unexpected given Tottenham's home advantage and Newcastle's recent form, but it showcased the resilience and tactical acumen of the away side. The match began with Newcastle taking the lead just before halftime through Malick Thiaw (GAP -0.3%), who capitalized on a defensive lapse to score in the 45th minute. Tottenham responded in the second half with Archie Gray's (GAP not listed) equalizer in the 64th minute, a well-taken goal that brought the home fans back to life. However, Newcastle quickly regained the lead just four minutes later when Jacob Ramsey (GAP -1.1%) found the back of the net, securing the win for the visitors. Tactically, Newcastle's head coach made four changes to the lineup, bringing in Dan Burn (GAP +3.0%), Anthony Gordon (GAP -0.8%), Jacob Ramsey, and Anthony Elanga (GAP +0.6%). These changes proved effective, particularly with Ramsey's decisive goal. On the other hand, Tottenham's manager made three changes, introducing Yves Bissouma (GAP -0.1%), Djed Spence (GAP +0.9%), and Radu Drăgușin (GAP -2.2%). The absence of key players like Cristian Romero due to suspension and Destiny Udogie due to injury was felt in their defensive organization. Bruno Guimarães (GAP +4.2%) was instrumental for Newcastle, controlling the midfield and contributing significantly to their attacking play. His performance was complemented by Nick Pope (GAP +1.7%), who made crucial saves to maintain Newcastle's lead. This victory propels Newcastle further up the Premier League table, boosting their confidence as they aim for a strong finish to the season. For Tottenham, the defeat is a setback, highlighting the need to address defensive vulnerabilities and capitalize on scoring opportunities. As the league progresses, both teams will look to build on this performance, with Newcastle aiming to maintain their momentum and Tottenham seeking to bounce back in their upcoming fixtures.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
